Hi, I’m Ruth Hendry, a feltmaker, designer, and artist based in the charming seaside town of Hove, England. My journey into feltmaking is woven with inspirations from across the world. Each piece I create is designed to bring warmth, beauty, and meaning into your life.

My roots are in Switzerland, but love led me to a Scotsman, and together we started a family in England. After 12 unforgettable years in the Pacific North West, we returned to England, where the story continues.

I began my artistic studies at the Schule für Gestaltung in Zürich, Switzerland, where I explored the intricacies of design. Determined to master the craft of feltmaking, I later trained at the renowned Filzschule in Oberrot, Germany. These experiences have shaped my creative perspective and allowed me to develop a unique approach to this ancient art form.

Nature is my greatest muse. From the muted tones of moss-covered forests to the vibrant hues of wildflowers, the natural world is reflected in every fiber I work with. My process is rooted in sustainability—I thoughtfully source materials to ensure animal welfare and environmental responsibility, crafting each piece using organic soap, soft water, and natural dyes.

Currently based in Hove, I continue to create felted works that honor the interconnectedness of art, nature, and design, offering timeless creations that carry their own unique stories.
